Pizza Parties and Roller Skating

Yesterday's Analysis (YA): Success!
Food: I stayed within my calorie limit (which is *very* hard for me to do) EVEN THOUGH I attended a neighborhood pizza party/campaign event for a gentleman running for city council. I got to ask him some questions and munch on (not too much!) delicious pizza. Great food - guilt + cool politician = great evening!
Movement: I did a baby 20 minute workout because I just wasn't feeling the groove. It was a tough 20 minutes, though! It's always nice to happen upon a video instructor who isn't bubblegum Barbie peppy. That kind grates on my nerves...
This morning was fabulous. I FORCED myself to get up at 5:30 (uuuuuuggghh) and go ROLLER SKATING before the torturous Southern heat and humidity ruined the outdoors. I bought myself a pair of bright white and hot pink roller skates (not in-line, I dig the old school look) on Craigslist at the beginning of summer and finally took them out for a spin. It was just as much fun as I predicted. I'm lucky to have a big ol' church parking lot within walking distance of my house, so I skated in circles around and around and around while jamming to my iPod (today's tunes: mostly Tenacious D and David Bowie). When the sun peeked over the trees, I skated on home! It was a great way to start the day - fresh air, relatively cool temperatures, a nice breeze. I'll have to remember that tomorrow morning when it's 5:30 again...oy vey.
Skating enemies: rocks and bees. It's hard to catch your balance once you trip over a rock on wheels, but I didn't fall down today. Also, avoiding bees on roller skates is challenging and terrifying. If you'd like to take up the activity, DON'T wear flowery/fruity lotions and potions. They will find you. Or maybe it was because I kept skating past flowers
Here's to another great, stress-free summer day.
Peace.
