I tried to make the Dukan diet work for me and it is not, I have no problem with the food choices, but I an constipated and in pain, that is one of the side effect I read about and I am just not able to deal with just protein, will go back to my own diet lose it slow but in time it will come off

    Too much protein does the same thing to me sometimes. It didn't use too until my thyroid messed up. I have been eating Zone bars and they are working better for me. I can't eat the Atkins bars because it makes me feel so bad. I have tried lots of different things too.

    Ooh! What a total yukky feeling that is .......... I found that just by adding all-bran (1/2 cup)and flax seed (2 tblsp)together with 1/2 cup milk to my eating habits daily find that after a few days I was no longer constipated. It is good on the calories aswell for breakfast just 215 calories and thats with whole milk. Plus it gives me that I'm full feeling and can easily last me until lunch time - I have a banana aswell during the morning as a snack just to keep me topped up.

    I don't know what the Dukan diet is, but instead of going on a diet have you tried just trying to eat properly? Most people go on fad diets and usually end up ditching them because the meals aren't fully rounded. Ie. Not enough fats/Carbs are usually the things that are taken out of fad diets... Anyways just a suggestion. If you stick to fruits and veggies for a majority of your meals and have a little grain here and there along with some meat (Fish specifically) you will be surprised that your own diet will work perfectly for you.

    It's good that you were able to make the connection between the diet and the pain. I think taking it slow, exercising, and drinking lots of water will get you where you want to be in time. emoticon
