Day 238: Selected Short Subjects
Friday, August 26, 2011
Actually, I'm not sure there are any subjects at all. It drizzled most of this morning, but cleared up around lunchtime (I say 'cleared up,' but that just means the drizzle stopped and occasionally I could see patches of blue sky). After lunch I went outside for a while and worked on cutting and trimming the edge of the patio. It looks pretty good, if I do say so myself.
When it started raining again, I called it quits. By then my back was starting to complain (well, y'know, gotta bend down to reach the ground) and it was getting on toward time for me to start fixing supper, so it worked out well.
I've been getting these wonderful cherry tomatoes, locally grown, and they are the best darn things. Usually I put them into salads, but this evening, I had a big beautiful head of cauliflower so I cut up the cauliflower and threw a bunch of the tomatoes in with it, then steamed the whole batch. It was delicious! Had fish and Brussels sprouts with, and topped everything off with a bowl of raspberries. That's the thing about summer: the fresh produce is so good, but the availability is fleeting.
And with that, I'm done. I see yet again I forgot to change my status line this AM, so I think I'll let it stand, lol...
Goodnight, Sparklers, wherever you are!
