End of my second week as a Sparker
After being downright discouraged by my lack of weight loss (although I tried to laugh it off), I can finally say that I lost a pound. But that's only half the story: what I think is making the difference in the way my clothes are fitting is the inches lost--I've lost 1 inch off my waist, 1 off my hips, and 1 off my thighs (I hardly had it to lose there). None lost off the arms (I tend to see results of weight training first in my arms.)
I am super pleased with the Spark program. Yes, I've spent a lot of time planning meals and tracking each one--but I must say, I was rarely hungry. And I've pushed my limits with the exercise: walking 4-5 miles when I'm not jog/walking (which is about to become all jogging), Bootcamp Shape-up (a video each day); Yoga video, cycling (the days before I jog/walk--have to save those knees). Whew! Can you see why I was expecting results! And I got them.
My picture is from 2009 showing me the way I want to look in that outfit again. The blouse doesn't fit as loosely yet, but the pants are zipped up and hooked. Not so 2 weeks ago.
Thanks to all of you for cheering me on when I was whining about no weight loss. I think I've figured out what's important now.
