Back to school--with new habits

Today was the first day of our "Back to school seminars"--all day meetings. What a way to begin a job in which you very rarely get to sit down. Anyway, I got up early cause it was a jog/walk day and I wasn't going to miss it. I came back, ate my oatmeal made with protein powder instead of milk, sprinkled with chunks of peach and walnuts, and planned the rest of my meals and exercise, responded to some blogs, and to some of my various teams' topics, read some articles, and -- yeah, you guessed it -- almost missed the first meeting. Actually, I got there just as they were finishing their donuts & muffins and was able to say Hi to everyone with just coffee in my hand. I grabbed a yogurt for a snack later, but didn't have a moment to eat it, so I had it later for lunch with the celery and peanut butter I had brought. Next time I'll bring more; I just grabbed that as I ran out the door.
At 4:00 I headed for the gym before I had a chance to sense how tired I was...and was so glad I didn't have to work off muffins & donuts (I can't stop once I have one of those).
Yep! It's going to be a different year...
