The Minnesota State Fair

I went to the Fair today with the idea that I wasn't going to set limits on myself food-wise. I have had a great year, I am well under my goal weight, and if I indulge a bit, so what?
I also ran 3.5 miles this morning before the Fair--can't let everything go, LOL. We also parked far enough away that it was free, and we walked to the Fairgrounds. Also walked a circuit around the entire Fair, except the Midway.
But it was okay. Yes, I did eat things that are bad for me, but I didn't go crazy. I had half a serving of cheese curds--those are my downfall. I had about a third of a bag of Tom Thumb donuts, brought the rest home for my son. For protein I ate grilled shrimp, but I did have butter on them. And when it got really hot in the afternoon, I had half an ice-cream cone. And lots of water!
Counting up the calories, I'm actually still below my calorie count for the day. It wasn't good food. Too much sugar and fat, not enough protein. But I feel okay that I can have a day like this and know that I can keep it under control.
