Day 245: Finale

Friday, September 02, 2011

This has been another 'I didn't get finished half of what I'd planned' but it was mostly due to circumstances beyond my control.

A Good Thing: I had to have my BP checked today with the local practice nurse. It came up 122 / 72. Get a load! She was convinced she'd made a mistake, so she did it again with the other arm. Suddenly it was reading 172 / 110. Ordinarily I'd have just about screamed, but while she was getting alarmed, I said 'Dunno if it's that cuff or the connection or what, but I know that's not right. The first reading might not be right either, but this one definitely isn't.' I can't always tell when my blood pressure is high, but if it's THAT high I can feel it.

She got a different cuff from another room. Ultimately, she took a half-dozen readings, three from each side. Except for that one, the highest was 128 / 72, the lowest was 120 / 70. C'mon, now, say it with me: wooooooo-HOO!

I'm on a 'half dose' of Lisinopril still, but for the first time (in a looong time) I think I see some light at the end of the tunnel. I'm not too old, or too out of shape, or too overweight, or too anything for the BP not to improve. Next stage: let's get it into the 120s / 70s without any Rx.

My new challenge!

All righty, peeps, that's about it from me. A busy day tomorrow - we're thinking about (THINKing about, mind you) trying to do a VERY quick trip to the States next month. We shall see. But just kicking that football around will keep us occupied, as there's a lot of number-crunching to be done.

Goodnight, Sparklers, wherever you are!

Those are great numbers. Once I got a BP reading and both numbers were in double digits, which means I'm like half dead. Ha, we knew that wasn't right. You should be proud!!

Congrats! It's amazing how many different ways our body is able to either tattle on our unhealthy habits or prove that we are taking care of ourselves. And you're obviously doing the latter - Great job!!! emoticon

Where will you be coming from if you make a trip over here.
I have to always have my BP taken in right arm per doc as left gives incorrect reading
