Day 263, Part 2: End Of
Tuesday, September 20, 2011
...the day, o'course. What'd you think I meant? lol...
Today was a mishmash. First was an early meeting with the paving contractor - we're trying to time it so the tree-trimmer people are done before the driveway is started. Gah. Just coordinating two things seems like a major hassle. I'll be glad when this is done, and it's not nearly as complicated as building an addition or something. Probably good that we're not contemplating anything more than this.
A friend dropped by at lunch, so - whatcha gonna do, right? People know if they drop in at mealtime I will find a way to make it work for all of us - amazing how you can add a little something to soup and a salad and stretch it to feed one or two more. Which I did. And after he left I did my power walking, so I walked off my lunch.
This afternoon was a tidy-up, as the new realtor is coming over tomorrow to measure the rooms and get some of the details out of the way. Although we're not re-listing the house until March, he said he will start drawing up the copy and working on a brochure. We won't be doing any photos before spring, but he'll have everything pretty much ready to go.
And Tuesdays are my day to call people in the States - today I had a great conversation with my aunt. I always set a timer now (tip o'the hat to LECATES) so I don't run over the 'cheap time' on our calling plan - and she and I are always still gabbing a mile a minute when the hour is up. She and my father were not just siblings, but were best friends, and I love to hear her stories about him and their family. She's the only source for them now - all the other siblings are gone.
A great supper (if I do say so myself) with baked salmon, sweet-potato fries (baked), some super-great local tomatoes, and nectarines with raspberries for dessert - how's that sound? Then some television, and... that's pretty much where the day went, I guess.
Goodnight, Sparklers, wherever you are!
