Morning Exercise

Are you a morning person?

One of my fellow team-mates inspired me to post this blog as she made a post about feeling crappy but then did a half hour of fitness and emoticon she became energized and passed this enthusiasm on to others - so I am doing the same.

Won't you get out there and do some cardio - a nice walk or a fun fitness activity. Then come back and pass your enthusiasm on to others.

It is ironic and meant to be as yesterday I rode by a sign that said - get your cardio in early before your brain has the chance to tell you different.

Try it you'll like it.

BTW, I did my yoga early morning instead of late afternoon two days in a row and also had time to do it again in the afternoon. Thanks for the enthusiastic idea.

    Hi! NANCYLEE46,

I AM A Morning Person, And Twice A Week I Go To A Senior Retirement Home And Volunteer There. In The Mornings I Work With The Adult Day Care Program There. And During That Time I Try To Do The Exercises With The Adults That Come There For The Day, While Their Spouses Or Children Are At Work. I LOVE IT THERE!

ALL THE VERY BEST TO YOU, MS. L. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Thanks for the reminder. I don't have trouble getting up, but I'm pretty 'draggy' in the morning. Love the sign you saw. Think I'll post it on my fridge by the coffee pot.

I do like it and feel better afterwards, but sometimes it's hard to get out of bed. Luckily I have a partner that will be me going even when I don't want to.

I've recently taken up rowing. That's the sport where you row long skinny boats (about 30' long and about 12" wide) and you can see it in the Olympics. It's more fun to row when the water is smooth, normally in the early morning. So I get up at 5:30 and am on the lake at 6:30 a.m. It's exhilarating to see the sun rise when getting in some good cardio.

To give myself a boost every morning I started taking the train to work. Now I have a 1.15 mile walk from the station to the office every morning to wake up, organize my thoughts and goals for the day and burn calories.

Not only does it help me to get my day off to a great start, but the 1.15 mile walk back to the station after a long day helps me de-stress, relax and remove the haze the office lights and desktop computer pull over my eyes throughout an 8 hour day. When I get home I am alive, happy and ready to take care of my family.

If you have the option, I recommend public transportation for your work week. It has helped me become a happier person.

Coffee & crossword first, then a good pumping hour or so of cardio! Works every time.

LOL I liked that sign you saw! So true!
It's easier if you get your clothes ready the night before that way you don't even have to think about anything! :)

morning is the best time to exercise by far. evening is the best time to lift weights because you're stronger then.
but morning is the best time to drink about a liter of water as soon as you wake up. then shake your limbs and do balistic stretching to stir your lymph which gets the blood moving. then do a workout and then stretch and then have some recovery and rebuild nourishment nutrition. then after a little while have your breakfast including fruit to start your day with energy. if you repeat this process your results will multiply. there's more...

"get your cardio in early before your brain has the chance to tell you different" - is something that is true for me. Morning is definitely a good idea.

Morning fitness is the bomb! I agree that as much as I would love to just stay in bed under the covers, getting down in the morning before my brain tells me later in the day that I have no time has been the best thing for me.

thanks for the added inspiration. I've been getting up @ 4am the last three mornings to get my workouts in and it has been great. I find that I sleep more soundly at night too (in bed earlier).
