September recap

Sunday, October 02, 2011

September was so busy. Spending 4 days in the car going to MI and back really put a dent in my tracking commitment. But I managed to lose 2 lbs, even with a visit to Frankenmuth (can you say "homestyle fried chicken dinner with all the trimmings"?) Maybe walking around the 2.2 acre Bonner's Christmas Store helped! DH was not that excited, until he saw a little tree covered with beer ornaments and little beer can shaped lights, 6 pks of Bud, frothy mugs and pilsner glasses. It was too funny! Got my BIL an ornament that looked like a frosted can of Bud. He thought it was great! There is every kind of Christmas ornament there, if you're looking for something extra special and they personalized ornaments while you're shopping. Good thing DD wasn't there. She'd have emptied her checking acc't!

Got in some nice long walks by the lake as my parents don't get up til about 9:30. DH and I are early risers. Most days I was out the door by 8 and back before they even woke up. Spending a lot of time on the computer tracking things was a bit difficult as I wanted to spend time with Mom & Dad. I don't get to see them often and they're both 88. Hoping they'll be able to come to FL to stay with us for a while after Christmas.

Talked with a neighbor next door to Mom's and we are planning to walk the Mackinac Bridge next Labor Day. It's the only day of the year that the bridge is open to pedestrians. Trying to talk my sis and DD into walking with us, too! See below if you're interested:

So September is over. October is a new month and I've set some new goals, including a 5K-- I'm planning on walking the local Race for the Cure Oct 22--and upping my fittess minutes goal to 1000+.

Beer can ornaments sounds just like my Hubby's style. Where's the store's location? Is there an internet address?

Congrats on losing weight while traveling. I'm not as lucky. I mostly don't gain, but wish I could lose weight.

    Happy training for your 5K.
