thanks for all your messages of support...My blood test results were fairly normal with the exception of very low Red Blood Cell (RBC) count and low H&H (Hematocrit and Hemoglobin) levels...which mean that I'm quite anemic. They suspected that I'm internally hemorrhaging so I had an EGD and colonoscopy on Friday to look into that - and other than removing a few polyps - that turned out to be a dead end. I suspect rather that it is the effect of one of my medicines for Psoriatic Arthritis which can damage the bone marrow's ability to produce RBC's.
So that means that my kidneys are okay...
The swelling in my body has finally subsided with a "weight loss" of over 35 pounds. However the skin on my lower legs, in particular, my left leg is very painful to the touch...I have noticed a large insect bite on my left foot and I am really suspecting that I was bitten by a spider and had a severe reaction to the bite. But the worst seems to be over so will keep my knees to the floor in prayer that that is "all " that it was.
Food wise- I have not been following any plan. There have been a few instances of overeating but generally am doing okay in that regard. I am sleeping much better - being completely exhausted much of the time and also not having much food in the house to snack on...so the night time eating has been more manageable.
Pain has been steadily worsening and I think the time has come when I can no longer forego being on constant pain meds...long and short acting. I've been taking too many short term PRN meds and this is not a good trend and besides that, it is completely ineffective, despite very high doses of the strongest pain med available.
My right shoulder replacement is pending (November 8th)--and I am completely unprepared for it. But like it or not; ready or not...it is coming.
I've tried once or twice to exercise (although not in the past week)--and had great difficulty in terms of endurance. Not so much breathlessness or anything...Just real overall weakness...so have kind of given up on that for a while...that could really be caused by the anemia I guess.
So overall - the news is good.
Kidney failure isn't eminent...and YOU'RE STUCK WITH ME!!
