LAND MINES (Or Timing is Everything)

WOW - here I sit, looking forward to the next round of BLC - gathering ideas, making plans, etc. Of course I still have this last week of BLC17 to get through. Now, I know the biggest goal we all have is to END the round lower than we began, right???? No problem, right???? Well, TIMING IS EVERYTHING! The round ends with Thanksgiving right in the middle of that last week! OUCH! What do people do on Thanksgiving??? EAT, EAT, EAT!

Now, I was very mindful of what I ate, and for the most part a Thanksgiving meal isn't terrible....turkey, veggies, fruit salads. IF you avoid the sweet breads, the gravy, the dressing, the desserts...... I did pretty well and sent a LOT of leftovers with all the family. Home free, right?

WRONG. Still had leftovers to face the next day and for some reason, picking at them all day long I wasn't as careful. I mean, what's wrong with a couple pieces of zucchini bread for breakfast or a big bowl of grape salad for lunch (with a cream cheese dressing). LOL OK, over and done with - move on!!!

Saturday - baby shower. Only thing on the menu - huge croissant sandwich with chicken salad! Some fruit and veggies, but couldn't quite make a huge plate of that! And of course cake - but I did not eat any of the icing!

OK - still have Sunday, Monday, Tuesday to get through and make up for that! Then granddaughter tells me last night "Grandma, Jim's family is doing nothing for his birthday, can I have a get together here?" (Jim's her boyfriend). So, of course Grandma says, "I guess so." Now I am facing sloppy joes, buffalo chicken dip and my daughters famous ice cream dessert tonight!

I have to tell you - this final week of BC17 has been full of land mines for me!!! I am trying really hard to tip toe my way through them and finish the round at least no higher than when I started.......note to self, pray no other round ends in a holiday week!! WHEW - TIMING IS EVERYTHING!

PS - and I forgot that next Sunday is a housewarming party for one of our granddaughters! But at least that's AFTER weigh in! LOL
