Let's beat the Holiday Eat Your Heart Out Mentality!

Monday, December 26, 2011

Ok, so I joined the Lose a lb a Week team and have been trying to stay current with their challenges. The pre Christmas challenge started off with a bang for me. I really like the concept of keeping my calories in the daily 500 calorie deficit range in hopes of losing a lb a week. It kept me tracking and posting daily. But the challenge went on from there and had you focusing on other things such as exercise and sodium intake, etc. Currently, we are just trying to get at least 10 min of exercise in daily and maintain current weight throught the rest of the Hiliday season. I think this is reasonable during this time and I am doing pretty good! I haven't really gained at all this month, but I haven't lost either.

Today is the day after Christmas. I am off work for 2 more weeks. My husband went back to work today. We don't have too many leftovers in the house. I have 1/2 an apple pie that is constantly beckoning me and 3/4 of a pan of "cheesy potatoes" which are deadly. We will have those with dinner tonight, then I might just thrown the rest away. After all, I can always make more. My daughter and I are the only ones eating these at this point and she currently has more to lose than me. After tonight, it is back to fish, vegetables and brown rice for dinner until New Year's Eve, on which I will be cooking a prime rib.

So, my plan to get through this vacation is tracking everything, everyday, and I'm going to post daily calories and weight on the Post Your Numbers team. There is currently only one gal posting, but I can't seem to find another forum where people are consistent about tracking and posting! My goal is to stay under 1200 calories a day, which is my current 500 calorie deficit range. My daughter and I are both trying to get back down to the low 120's. If we make it to 120 we are going to reward ourselves with a trip to San Francisco!

It's on!!
