Last Night's Temptation Avoided!!!

Monday, January 02, 2012

Taken from my Nutrition Tracker's Notes...

"Well I was under a lot of stress tonight and I was considering soothing my feelings with a DQ treat... That is until I checked out their calorie counts, whoah! Then, I had the great idea of making a SMOOTHIE and it worked! Pretty cool, and a whole lot healthier!"

Yes, it did work! I'm very happy about that because it's dealing with stress that can do me in. I'm not saying I won't enjoy ice cream but last night it was more about AVOIDING the work I needed to do and NOT about having a treat for it's own sake. Again, I am very happy that I stayed home and made a yummy smoothie instead of, "re-kindling" a very bad habit!

Cheers,

    HI Julia -

I giggled at your note! I just made a smoothie but gave it that "ice cream feel" with a serving of plain greek yogurt, sweetened with stevia. So far as DQ, not sure where you live, but if that's all you have in your area, I guess it'll do. Otherwise, as my mother-in-law used to say, if you're gonna eat crud, at least eat GOOD crud!! Get the best ice cream you can get.... and around here, DQ is at the bottom of the ice cream cone, so to speak! In fact, I don't think it's even considered "real" ice cream, more like "frozen dessert" or some such...

And there have been times when I had an ice cream and then lost weight within the next 24-48 hours. I guess because of the good quality calcium etc in the dairy? that's for ONE portion of ice cream. It doesn't quite work that way with an entire carton of ice cream overnight, but I think you know that already. hee hee.

    Cheers!!

Way to go, Julia. Though it might appear small, it actually was a huge victory.
And your victories will keep on coming because you are ready for this new body you created.
Hope you are keeping a journal. You have come so far.
