Hawaii was amazing!! We had a great time and I've never seen anyplace as amazing and beautiful! We were able to do a lot of sightseeing which meant a lot of walking. emoticon
I was also able to walk about an hour each morning. So I'm very proud of that!! Tried to watch my eating and didn't do too badly considering my choices. However, we were celebrating so I wasn't too rigid.
We got home Wednesday morning at 6:30! UGH!! I felt awful all day---don't like to fly so flying all night and trying to sleep sitting up is NOT my idea of a good time. Yesterday was the first day I felt somewhat "normal". I finally started walking again yesterday--donned my winter walking gear and headed out. Worked great but, man, that wind about froze my face!!! It seems I gained almost 2 pounds while gone and, according to scale now, I've lost those 2 already. Happy me!! I would like to keep losing for a while. We'll see. Right now it's more important to me that I feel good--you know, strong and healthy.
I'm still trying to catch up with house and laundry. I have a meeting at GMU this afternoon to get my intern assignments for this semester. It seems every semester the paperwork and computer info is different!! Keeps me on my toes---and also frustrates me!!! Hope the rain quits because it's quite a hike from the parking lot to the building!!
Dad continues status quo. My brother has gone on a little get away this week so I'm thinking I may call the hospice nurse to get some info. We'll see.
Hope you all are having a great January. Winter is about a third over!! YAY!!! It hasn't been too bad here so far (knock on wood, cross my fingers, etc.)

I'm glad you had a wonderful vacation. An hour of walking a day?, you rock sister! I think it's so great that you are focused on how you feel, "strong and healthy". Good for you!

Sooooo glad your trip was wonderful. I can practically see you smiling as I read your blog.
I'd love to know more about the GMU intern assignments. What do you do?
So much I still don't know about you.
    Congrats on the winter walking.

Wow! That is marvelous that you got a break and got your walking in. I hope you are patting yourself on the back. I know this journey with your father can be a challenging one, and you sound so very present with it. Happy 'getting back into it' with paperwork and computers and procedures. Its always something, as Roseanne Roseannadanna would say! Classes start for me next Tuesday and I'm hoping to get an RA or TA assignment, but money is very tight in the university system, so I will hope for the best and use the extra time to get back to my health. Here's to us!

Hawaii sounds like a good place for me to move. LOL. I've been looking for paradise.

    Where are our pictures?LOL.

It sounds like you did great there staying on plan. Not that easy to do on holiday.

I'm glad your dad is holding his own.

Get some rest. I'm sure you still have some jet lag.

We have had little winter too. I could get used to this.

Welcome home! Great job on only gaining 2 pounds on vacation and losing it as soon as you got back! I'm sure that being active while you were enjoying Hawaii was a huge help!

It does sound like could use some help this week, though, so don't overdo it - I think a call to the hospice nurse is a good idea.
