FEBRUARY????? Really?

Not just February, but almost Valentine's Day - which means to say almost half the month of February is over! That's almost 1/10th of the year GONE!


Just after I wrote my last blog, I was visited by the world's worst cough - which soon turned into the world's worst cough-and-cold, and then retreated into just being the world's worst cold.

So there I was, barely able to breathe without hacking up half a lung.

What do you think happened to my Insanity workouts?

Gee. Ya THINK?


Stopped cold.

So, that's been about 6 weeks of zero exercise. And I am not ready to start Insanity all over from scratch: it will have to wait for another insane moment of commitment.

Anyway, last week I decided I needed to get back in the exercise and healthy eating groove. Yes, I've said that before. But I am doing it, so don't nag. :)

I have been walking a bit (a couple of miles a day) and eating more salads and fruit, less starches.

I don't see any significant changes in my body, but I definitely can tell the difference in attitude and morale: I am woman, hear me ROAR! :)

And today, I had a nice intense workout: 30 minutes of weights followed by an hour of more-intense-than-moderate-car
dio on the treadmill and the elliptical. Thank goodness the building has a mini-gym so I have really no excuse to avoid a good workout: winter may mean cold temperatures outdoors, but hey, it's a GORGEOUS view from the penthouse gym! :)

So, that's about it ... keeping on keeping on, which is really all any of us can do.

And on that note, I really need to get in some groceries so that I can continue to eat healthy this week without needing to grab something quick (and usually unhealthy) from one of the restaurants near work.

    I hear you. My insane moments of committment have been few and far between lately. I was on the verge of sending out expensive Spark (I've even forgotten what they're called) virtual gifts to my friends, to liquidate my huge backlog of SparkPoint cash, and then splitting from the scene, when Susan sent me a note on Facebook, where I'm not at much, either, letting me know that it was "inactive leader" day, time to stop by and say "hi". Love those sentences that go on forever?

    So true.... Need to keep on keeping on.... Me too.... You're right on my blog: very important to make healthy food choices - that is more than half the battle!
