Sometimes, I come a quote that just makes me think which makes me open my bible. Today I came across the quote which I have no clue who said it, but it really was fitting for me right now. "The storms of life remind us to take shelter in the loving arms of our Savior." So I am going to try to share what I got out it. The first scripture I found is 2 Corinthians 1:6 - 7. It talks about our suffering helps others and we can have comfort.
6-7When we suffer for Jesus, it works out for your healing and salvation. If we are treated well, given a helping hand and encouraging word, that also works to your benefit, spurring you on, face forward, unflinching. Your hard times are also our hard times. When we see that you're just as willing to endure the hard times as to enjoy the good times, we know you're going to make it, no doubt about it. The Message (MSG)
6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort. New International Version (NIV)
6And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. 7And our hope of you is steadfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. King James Version (KJV)
I think by us sharing our experiences with others they can learn a positive way of seeing things. If we are able to make it be seen as blessing not burden. I am a strong believer that through my life experiences I am who I am. If you have read any of my earlier blogs you would know I haven't I had an easy path. Not that anyone's path is easy. I just know we have to make the choice to either let events make us weaker or stronger. I can honestly say I would not wish anyone to have go through rape yet I can say my personal experience of it happening I have learned better to empathize with other victims and I can make it into a blessing by helping other cope. This is a good way for me to reminder in the storm their is a calm. We can take take comfort and comfort in his word that continually reminds of our master. I am going to stop by sharing some more scripture that I take use to remind me of these things.
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. New International Version (NIV)
Haven't I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don't be timid; don't get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take. The Message (MSG)
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. New International Version (NIV)
Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track. The Message (MSG)
But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. New International Version (NIV)
But whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God—the free life!—even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks with it, is no distracted scatterbrain but a man or woman of action. That person will find delight and affirmation in the action. The Message (MSG)
Walking with Christ
Lord, all the glory is yours alone. I ask that these words I have written be helpful to someone and not preachy. Even if that person is myself, I thank you for opening my eyes to see your comfort by going to your word. You are my soul comforter and in you I will take refuge. Please be with anyone who reads to know you are their for them, too. Thank in advance for the many more lessons we have to learn. In Jesus' name...Amen!
