Stuff I sort of want to do

Friday, April 27, 2012

My biggest interests in life are travel, volunteer work and wild animal encounters. I work hard to combine the three things and have had incredible opportunities. But sometimes I start to think about smaller things in life that I am not familiar with but am curious about. One of them, lol, is to go to a casino! Some distant relatives of mine are casino regulars and I think it is a waste of good money to repeatedly gamble. That being said, I wouldn't mind trying the experience once or twice. I went to a casino on the Strip once with my adult daughter and tried to play a slot machine but my quarter kept coming back out. Obviously I was doing plenty wrong, and I am sure the people on the surveillance cameras where rolling with laughter. Just a very trivial blog post today to ease some of the anxiety packing and making last minute preparations for my volunteering trip next week.

Since i have an obsessive personality problem its a good thing i dont live near one! Beware the lack of natural light and clocks....for they dont exist in a casino. enjoy it is kinda fun, just set a limit and stick to it, have a plan !

LOL! I hope you get to experience a casino very soon! I agree with NellJones, our bucket lists need to include some little things that we can do NOW, rather than just big, dramatic things! I always had a 1, 5 and "someday" list going - updated on New Years and my birthday at the end of May (roughly every 6 months). That way, when you're sitting around trying to think of something to do (yeah, right - like anyone has time for that!) or planning a vacation, you can look at your wish list and hopefully pick something that's on it.

Good luck! After all, it really IS the little things that make life sweet! :-)

Ever notice how "bucket lists" always cover dramatic activities? I'm with you in that it's the simpler ones that offer the greatest joy, like having all your family with you for Christmas. A casino? Why not?
