Just finished reading 'Eat to live' - amazing!

I've just finished reading 'Eat to live' and now I have to turn the theory into practice. I'm already trying to eat healthy but I will now instead of counting calories, focus on eating mainly unprocessed foods and way more veggies than meat! Having started my journey with Dukan, although I lost weight quickly I just didn't feel healthy! emoticon And I don't think it can be sustained...Instead of forcing myself to eat food I don't like just because someone says so, I will now focus on listening to my body. I will just try this as an experiment, to see where it leads me. Might be a big disappointment and a huge weight gain??? Who knows? But I will stay away from sugar, potatoes, pasta, rice and all starchy food. At least this week will be a bit quieter and hopefully this give me a bit of time to make the adjustments. Today the sun is shining and after weeks and weeks of rain it makes such a difference! emoticon Hope you are all still staying on track emoticon emoticon

    I really do think by staying away from the "unhealthy" carbs (pasta, potatoes, rice, sugar, etc) is the way to go. I do like the Dukan "pancake". But limiting vegies and mostly fruit isn't healthy.

    Good luck !!! This is all a big experiment for all of us. I am constantly figuring out when to eat, what to eat, how to eat. Trying different things to see what works best for my body. I will be looking forward to see how this works out for you.

    I am personally a strong proponent of listening to our bodies. I have always been athletic and really thought I was good at listening to what my body wanted, but, I have found out, that was mostly related to physical activity - I really didn't listen related to nutrition - what I was listening too was social convention and conventional wisdom.

    The process of the last year or so for me has been one of trial and error while tweaking, but mostly learning to listen.

    I feel so much more like I am in partnership with my body in create my health.

    That was just my way of saying - way to go. Whether you gain or lose, you will at least have some feedback, which is part of listening to your body - it's talking to ya.

    nah.... that can't lead you to a weight gain. i think you will lose. i caught myself a cold, so i have been pampering myself a bit, but not with store bought starches. home made bread and pasta with wheat from a local farm. we are working hard on keeping genetically modified food out of our system. i weighed in this morning and i am still holding the exact same weight. so if i get back to work this week with intention i think i should lose something.

    i am going to threaten to come over and see you... maybe that will kick both of us in the rear emoticon
