Marijuana and Me??? Really??

I read the Health Day Reports and I just read an article that said they had been doing a study on MS patients using marijuana.
Long story short the Marijuana was used in patients that had muscle stiffness and pain..I have DM and I have muscle stiffness and pain. I struggle daily with trying to exercise and get so tired of struggling. I read this article and laughed. I grew up in the 70's but was not into drugs. But I wondered if it would work. When I think back on my experimenting with it. I hated it and it made me sleepy. No munchies.. Just couldn't hold my eyes open.. As I sit here and think about it I try and think would it be worth it if I had the same results as I did as a teenager? I would be so lazy and sleepy even if my muscles relaxed and my pain went away could I run and play pickleball or softball again? I would love to play those two sports without struggling. Will keep an eye open on this study..

    Joan and Cindy_L i am seriously going to ask my Neurologist about this when I go to see her in September. I am doing water aerobics, Yoga and trying to play pickleball. They say water aerobics and yoga are good for inflexible people but so far the muscle AIN'T loosening up. If I could just run a LITTLE I could at least play sports that I like. I am one of those people who hate exercising but I love to play sports... Pickleball is sort of like Raquetball, tennis, and badmitton all in one...I used to play Raquetball but NO WAY anymore.. Pickleball is a little slower. Anyway, Joan you can mix me and your daughter up some brownies and we can see how we feel then. Life is good. emoticon

    I found this blog from search about medical marijuana, and I have to say that it's made a world of difference for my father. He had chronic pain in his hips and back, and was taking dangerous narcotics to control his pain, and now he's eating one marijuana cookie a night, and he's just fine. :)

    I know it's been about a month since you posted this blog but I hope you find something that works for you!

    Ok, if you have to be forced to do it, I'll come and join you. I haven't had any since high school, but we could make some pretty good brownies I think. My daughter has MS so I could do it for her. What do you think? If nothing else we'd probably have a fun time trying it!!!

    No I haven't spoken with her about it as I don't have MS. I have DM but will mention it off handedly in Sept when i go for a check up.

    There is more than one medical study on that subject out there. It is known to be used by cancer patients and it seems that the results are good. It can be ingested as well -for those who do not smoke- for example as tea, in cookies or puddings. Have you talked to your doctor about it?
