Last night I stepped out of my comfort zone and went to my first Zumba class. This was a huge step for me, not only because I can't dance but because I went by myself. I got there early just to get a feel for the place since I had never taken a class there. There was a kickboxing class going on when I got there, so I just looked around and checked out the May schedule.
Our instructor was Dani. He was so much fun. I was relatively lost the whole time, but the class was so low-key that it was no problem. I kept thinking that I looked like Sandra Bullock's character in "Miss Congeniality" when she was trying to learn the dance routine, lol. I cannot dance, but I think my experience with Turbo Fire helped me a bit because I was less inhibited moving my hips and pumping my chest. But seriously, most of the women looked like they were born in a Latin dance club, lol.
I'll definitely go back, especially now that I know what to expect, particularly with this instructor. I would like to go several times a week, to both the zumba and kickboxing classes. I even entered a weightloss contest they are holding. I don't think I'll win because it's based on percentage of weightloss but it's just fun to be a part of something.
Tonight they are having zumba and kickboxing classes. I'd like to go to one of them but I can barely move right now, lol. I'm hoping I'll loosen up throughout the day. If not, I'll do Walk Away the Pounds or a short Turbo Jam video tonight.
I need to remind myself to take before and after pics. I'm looking forward to the comparison.
