It has been really hot here. Yesterday was in the 90s but today was in the low 80s. Way to hot for me. DH has been sick with vomiting and diarrhea for the past several days. He woke up this morning after being up most of the night changing his t-shirts. His fever broke and he said he thought he and the recliner had gone for a swim. Everything was soaked. Took most of the day to dry the recliner out. Really cool out now and I am enjoying it. 2924 days ago
It's 77 degrees here today with a breeze. This is what makes living through the upstate winters worthwhile.
I grew up in Philadelphia, though, so I know all about hot and humid. My main memory is of summers with all the blinds drawn to keep out the sun, and all the food that had to be cooked was done before 8:00 a.m.
Why don't you send a little (not too much though) of your heat out here to Oregon! It got to maybe 60 yesterday, but was cloudy most all day and today is supposed to be about the same, as well as tomorrow....... I'd like to have about 75 or 80. We don't have humidity here when the weather is warm, so it's not like those temps in humid country.
(pant pant pant) Record high temps in east Tennessee this week. It's expected to hit 93 today. And it''s labor day weekend, which means I have free labor in the form of husband and sons to do weekend projects. I need yardwork done, especially since my arm is in a cast, but they might call it cruel and unusual punishment and go on strike.
I guess we'll just finally replace the ceiling fan with a new one we bought a month ago. And wash everyone's cars. Maybe go to the outside concert tomorrow night at the city park.
Have a good weekend, anyway! -- Claudia 2926 days ago
