Guys,
I just wanted to touch base with you as I do not get on much lately. I stay busy with mom lately as she has been put on a new

that we have had to cut way back because it makes her want to faint. That is not a good thing either, because we do not need her to fall. I wish they would let her take something else, but they keep saying that it will be good for her kidneys if she can take it. I try and stay with her all that I can. My daughter is a big help. She has not found a job yet and is able to be with her more than me.
I had to take her and dad to the doctor about two weeks ago. At dad's doctor office we found he had lost 10 pounds

. I think he was shocked as much as the doctor was. She commended him and told him to keep it up. He told her he had only been cutting back on the breads a little. He told her about me losing on the Atkins plan. She told him that it was a great diet and that one of the doctors that worked in the office had lost 60 pounds doing it, and had cured his diabetes, and was not taking any

for anything now. This was a big encouragement to not only him, but me also.
I stepped in to moms doctors office and her doctor looked like he had just had plastic surgery, and had gained about 10 years to his life. He had lost 20 pounds. He was never one to need to lose weight to me. He is in his 60's, but you could never tell it. He also had been doing Atkins and is now running. He says people just look at him in disbelief when they see him running down the road.
I did want to tell you that I have not weighed in this week, but I did have visits with my doctor and with my dietician Mrs. Lisa. I have managed to finally loose 24 pounds. I got on

in each of these offices, but they are not the scales I regularly weigh in on. It is so weird how one

will say one thing an another

will say something different. Both showed me at losing 24 pounds this week though.
My new labs are

:
A1C
Last time was 6.8. This time was a 6.5.
A1C value range is:
4.7--5.6=Normal
5.7--6.4= Prediabetic
6.5 and over =Diabetic
As you can see I am one point from being in the prediabetic range and about 9 more points of seeing the NORMAL range. Still a lot of work to do, but it is a very worthy goal to work toward.
My Cholesterol results really blew my mind as I have been eating the real fats not the low fat stuff.
Last time results on my Triglycerides was 151
This time results 133
Normal range is 33--135
So this is in the normal range. It was in the high range when eating low fats.
Cholesterol
Last time 144
This time 136
Normal range is 100-200
So this is in the normal range
HDL (good cholesterol)
Last time was a 50
This time was a 50
Normal is 30-85
No change but I think this is
LDL (bad cholesterol)
Last time 65
This time it was a 58 WHAT
That's right a 58 it went down 7 points and I am eating real fats not LOW-FAT JUNK!
Normal range is 0-129.
The doctor thought I was sick at first as I had went in the last time I was there and complained with stomach problems, and this time I am asking how long before I come off some of these

. He told me I was to be commended for losing this weight, and he could not wait to see the next labs. To keep it up and we will see. He said that Atkins had been around for a long time, and was one of the better things I could use to lose weight.
Mrs. Lisa could not believe her paperwork,

, or other devices she had to use in the office. They all read great results. She was sort of speechless and just reminded me that I might need to come off this diet every three months for about two weeks, and then proceed. She was happy that I had finally found something that was working for me.
I can't wait to be able to get to the next phase of this diet where I add carbohydrates back in a little at the time, but for right now I am enjoying the "no" stomach issues and having some of the energy that use to be mine come back. Who knows with the fat getting gone I might stay on this phase! See you guys latter I am gone for a

with my Chi Chi.
