Status 8/29/12: BBQs, Parties, Drinking, and Less Then 1 Mile Runs

Thursday, August 30, 2012

The first step is admitting that you have a problem, right? In all seriousness, it has been a long-time goal of mine to lead a healthy lifestyle. This goal is something that has been on my mind every single day for the past few years, and for some reason I have not mustered enough energy, motivation, willpower and commitment to really stick to my guns and stay on a program that delivers real results.

Things that I've tried in the last two years, but failed at doing regularly: Going to the gym in the mornings, training for a half-marathon, sticking to a healthy food regime, swimming, staying off of the unhealthy foods that I grew up loving (fast food and chips in particular), going to the gym REGULARLY, adhering to an ab regime.

I'd love to be at the peak of my physical and mental health, in the following ways:
1. Lose 6 lbs and be at 116 lbs, standing 5'2 1/2 tall
2. Chisel out my biggest problem area, my stomach - I've had a pooch since the day that I was born
3. Gain a healthy eating lifestyle

My current status:

Age: 24
Height: 5'2 1/2
Weight: 122

Energy level:
- I fatigue pretty regularly
- I get tired in the middle of the day and take regular naps
- It is very hard for me to wake up in the mornings
- Short endurance

- Inconsistent
- Runs at the gym are a little under a mile each time
- Sporadic exercises on upper and lower body
- Gym pass, but not used regularly

What I'm Eating:
- Bad eating habits
- Regularly consume food with a lot of spices and sodium
- Drinking alcoholic beverages often and every weekend at least once
- Binge eating at parties, bbqs and special events

The Water I'm Drinking:
- Very little water, perhaps 1 cup a day on average
