Usually when my hubby is out of town for two weeks at a time, I get a little blue on the weekend. During the week I am busy with the training and workouts that I love. I love having my hubby home, even on those long days, it's just nice to have someone waiting for you at home and someone to wake up with.
This weekend, I posted on my Facebook page the things I was looking forward to do on the weekend. I had several friends take me up on those ideas and tossed in a couple new ones! Friday morning I got up earlier than usual to go flip some tires with my friend, Lindsay. I usually sleep in on Friday mornings because it is my first day off. Since my hubby wasn't home, I wanted to change my pattern. It was raining, cooler and muddy! To top it off my tummy wasn't feeling the best. I thought about not going and even texted with Lindsay that I was thinking about going to bed. She said "okay, well, I'm going to go flip tires." Grrrrr . . . okay!!! I'm there! I can't have her out there having all the fun without me!!!
I got muddy, wet and had the most fun ever!
Later that day I went to the gym to power lift and get a chest and tricep workout. It was a great day! I never made it to the movies, yet! The weather has just been too nice to be inside!
I headed back out to run trails and flip tires with Lindsay and our friend Lynn. We had a fabulous time. I didn't flip tires for very long, it was my leg workout day, so I used the largest tractor tire to do step ups and used a bench for split lunges. I figure the hill runs hit my hammies well enough for today. Later in the day I met with a friend to go for a fifteen mile bike ride. . . that polished off the quads!
It's Saturday evening at 6:30 and I haven't been home much of this day, other than to change clothes, shoes, load a bike, eat a sandwich and head back out. It's nice to have some friends who love playing outside as much as I do! I think this week my friends/clients will be doing more of their training outside.
Reset Part 2
I've been doing pretty good with eating before 8pm each evening, except on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night. I teach classes on those nights that end at 8:15 p.m. I train clients up until the fifteen minutes before I walk into the studio to teach. I don't want too much on my stomach before I teach, so I usually grab a yogurt and some fruit in between the 5:00 and 6:00 clients. Dinner was 8:30 in my office one night and 9:00 in my bath tub two nights. I was in bed by 10:00 most work nights.
Water in take has been good.
I did get in a 20 - 30 minute walk every day over the past two weeks. Yay!
This week, let's keep focusing on 7-8 hrs of quality sleep, eating before 8pm each evening, getting in a walk most days of the week.
What to add:
On one of those walks: Increase the intensity by either increasing your pace (jog, speedwalk, run) or increase the incline/grade. Do 15 seconds at an increased pace/grade. Walk until your heart rate comes down a little. Do 30 seconds at the increased pace. Walk until your heart rate comes down. Do 45 seconds at the increased pace. Walk. Do 60 seconds at the increased pace. Repeat the cycle for a total of 20-30 minutes.
Also, let's work on increasing water intake this week.
Whatcha say? Game on?
