A Sad Day.....

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

I HATE to blog - I am terrible at it - and avoid it whenever I can.......
Today I am blogging in hopes that it will lighten my heart -
My grandmother died today. She was 93 years old and weighed 83 pounds!! But she was the toughest lady in my life and she thought grandkids hung the moon!
She had a tough life - She was unable to attend school after the 8th grade. Her father had died and there were about about 8 kids in the family.
But what she didn't have the opportunity to learn in a classroom - she learned in real life. She worked hard all her life. She raised 2 kids mostly on her own - since she married a violent alcoholic the first time around. But she was able to take care of her family and her kids grew up to be wonderful people.
Life was not easy for Grandma - but I can honestly never remember hearing her complain about anything.....ever.
When my sister and I came along - we were little princesses in her world. The sun rose and set on us!! Unfortunately - we had children of our own who soon surpassed us on the Grandma scale!!! The GREAT grandchildren were just that....GREAT!!!! She loved to spoil them too!!
And eventually she ended up with 4 GREAT GREATS to round out her world and she was one happy old lady!!!
She wasn't perfect - not by a long shot....but she sure thought WE were!!
Rest In Peace Grandma
You will be missed by all of us but I already know where you are and you are celebrating tonight!!

I think you did a great job with your blog it is more to help you get your feelings and problems out and get input. Sorry for your loss but she is still with you. It is wonderful that she was with you so long and got to see so many generations added to your family. Hope that your heart will heal fast and you can always remember the best times you had with your grandma.

So sorry to hear about your Grandma, she sounds like she was an amazingly strong and inspirational woman.

It is never easy to lost a loved one, but it sounds like you have a lot of love and fond memories for her so even though she may be gone in person, she is still with you in spirit and wont be forgotten.

Thinking of you at this time (and you aren't a terrible blogger! I think you blog very well!)
