The Trail of History

Every year our county has its "Trail of History" in one of the forest preserves. It tells the early history of settling McHenry County, Illinois.



It starts with a long hike-about 2 miles back to the camp.









And then you get to the camp....

Looking from afar. This is one of the few hills in northern Illinois. Things are generally pretty flat here. The walk back to the camp is kind of hilly and it was a beautiful fall day. Unfortunately most of our color is already gone. All the actors and helpers are volunteers. They do a wonderful job every year.
