Day One: Part of the Workforce Again

Saturday, November 03, 2012

I went to work today, after not working for 15 months (not by choice).

A warehouse type job, yes, manual labor.

Ask anyone who knows me, they'll tell you that a manual labor job would be the LAST type of job I would want, but after not bringing in a paycheck for so long I jumped in with both feet.

I actually was ok with it, I had the whole floor to myself; no one supervising me (after the initial explanation of what to do, of course); no phone to answer; no clients/customers/co-workers to talk to; an introverts dream job really!!

Just me and my thoughts.

I like my own company.

I was SO into it, that by the time I checked the clock it was past 1pm!!

I packed a PB&J sandwich; I must have been hungry because before I knew it, it was gone!!

Next thing I knew, it was time to go!!

The boss was impressed with my work.

It was nice to hear.

I had so many calories at the end of the day, the bf and I went to dinner at a Thai place.

It was nice; we haven't been out to eat in ages!!

When we got home, although it was dark, it was still early.

I'm off to the gym, I said to the bf.

Now!! He asked very surprised.

It's early, I just want to get something in for today.

Work wasn't enough? He asked, still very surprised.

Work was busy, yes, but I wouldn't equate it with cardio, I said.

Off I went.

I feel like I missed Sparking, but its good to have a job, too.

Just another thing to work on: eating in a timely manner at work and still getting in a good workout; because this month is NO excuses NOvember!!!

That's really great. There are many days that I wish I had a job that I didn't take home with me every evening. I'd like to just do my job for the day and go home and the next day is something new and not carry over. I'm not sure I could do it, but like you if I hadn't worked for that long I'd definitely jump on it.

And it sounds like you really enjoyed it. I hope that continues as long as you need it to.
    Have a great Saturday!
