New Year's Eve... with a cold.
Monday, December 31, 2012
I was totally hoping that the scratchy throat was due to the bad air pollution in FL... and not the beginnings of a cold.
I did go to my party last night, and I really hope I didn't pass it to the other girls.
I only ate 2 breadsticks at Olive Garden last night.
And I ordered a lunch sized entree instead of a dinner sized one, but I still ate 90% of it.
And I tried all the desserts we ordered... I just didn't eat an entire one by myself.
Then came the snacks at the hostess's house...
And then there was the alcohol! Yum! I absolutely LOVE plum wine. And my hostess had a bottle. And one of the other girls had brought two bottles of cupcake wine... one red and one white... and then there was the peach schnopps.. and then the tiny bottles of flavored vodka... le sigh. I did my best and I think that I managed to only drink about 14 oz or so... I am pretty much a lightweight when it comes to alcohol, but it was really fun!
We played games like Apples to Apples (The hostess and I have the same alcohol tolerance and we kept picking each other's cards because we were at the same level of tipsyness! Fun stuff!) and Life... which I actually won! And then we did Tarot card spreads for everybody... And the readings were all pretty accurate, except for the two of us who do Tarot more often... sadness!
We basically ended up talking and chatting until about 4:30 in the morning before finally falling asleep. Then we slept until 11 am. Woot!
It was so much fun!
And now I've been drinking hot tea all afternoon and I took some alka-seltzer in the hopes that it would ward off this oncoming cold, but I think it wants to stay for the new year... unfortunately.
The new plan... Rest + Soup + Tea + Rest will make the world right itself again!
Happy New Year! I hope those of you going out to celebrate tonight will stay safe while having fun!
I look forward to Sparking with you in the New Year!
... is it going to be the year of the snake this year? Yes...
Hmm... I'll have to look up what the year will look like for a rabbit in the year of the snake.
