Does this Compute?

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

I am so so so tired of fighting with this little HP laptop I've been borrowing for some weeks now. It continually goes off line and it's a whole long procedure to get back on....by which time my chat friends have always given up and gone away. :( I'd liike to throw it across the room....but you can't look a gift horse in the mouth right??

Good news is that this morning, I'm getting my Toshiba fixed again!!! Several weeks ago in the middle of the night I stepped on it while it was "stored" on the floor (my room is so tiny that the floor is literally the only place to put it.) So I ordered a new screen and yesterday found a man who can put it on for me. He is stopping by this morning on his way to work to put it on for me. Now I"m just crossing my fingers that it is the right screen. There were too many danged options...but i found a site that locates the right screen FOR you. I just hope they knew what they were doing. I"m sure it's probably right...but hey, I have to worry about SOMETHING now don't I??

I need to get back on my exercise bike this morning. I really should do it now (7:00 AM) before I have to worry about the guy getting here at 9:00 AM. Maybe I will. I just have to talk myself into sweating so early in the morning. I hate sweating in a cold room...your sweat gets all cold and clammy...yuck. But I digress....

Today I really need to think of a menu that we all will like. It's been almost a week now of cooking a meal and having us take three or four "long toothed" bites and then throwing the remains out. This cookbook thus far has been a huge flop. It might be healthy but a person could starve to death just because they can't stomach the recipes. It is time for us to have something really good. I need to put my mind to it.

well, sparkies...have yourselves a wonderful day. I look forward to chatting with you more consistently once I have a reliable computer. It will be so great to be able to download music again too. I have a n Amazon wish list a mile long!!

Blessings to you.

I love my Toshiba, they have been the most reliable laptop I have ever had -never had one problem with it! Sorry you accidently trashed yours, hope the new screen works.. I am extra careful with this one as its my business computer and I can't afford to lose all my club information -the work I would have to do to get it all back would be immense.
Good luck with the menu -what are Oz's suggestions in that book for food? Could you try something in there? If you look at Spark Recipes, you can search for meals that take less then 30 min to prepare, they have good search parameters to put in anything you want to cook.
    All the best with it!

I hope the computer repair went well! And I hope things get easier for you with the meal preparation. Personally, I think that as long as you follow the suggestions of the physician and/or dietician, that should be good enough and any extra demands should be met by the person making them, but that is my opinion. When I need special things in my diet (like now for my recovery) I try to do as much of the work myself as possible so as not to make more work for anyone else. But then again, men are different. I will keep you in my prayers. emoticon

I hope you get your computer issues resolved today. And, I always turn the heat down before I exercise because I know I'm going to heat up fast.

What's the name and/or author of the cookbook you're using? I could probably give you some recommendations if you're interested. I have over 50 cookbooks.

It will be so cool once your computer gets fixed! emoticon I know how much I've gotten to love my Sparky world and if you can't compute, you can feel so lost. Good luck with your meals. I know too, some people's idea of healthy meals are for the birds! We're not even great fans of yogurt and that's in so many healthy recipes now. Ugh! I use light sour cream when feasible instead. I don't use tofu either with having a hypothyroid and they're not supposed to eat alot of soy. Oh Cynthia, you'll figure it out. It's all about what each of us as individuals savor with eating healthy and once we do, we have the key! emoticon
