Learning to SPARK

Sunday, January 27, 2013

I've been blogging all over the site and none have ended up on my own blog site. I have a lot to learn. I blog as if I were talking to someone. I talk about myself as well as cheering another contributor on. I read everyone's true words and they are inspiring. I use the emoticons when I am short of time or run out of thoughts! However, they are nice and can be cheerful if not overused!

I have learned that recording what I put in my mouth and actually looking at it in print and seeing daily totals is the best tool I have found this week.

I love reviewing recipes that successful losers have shared. I've set up a family recipe file and have enjoyed saving some that will stimulate my creative effort.

Thanks to all SparkPeople for your help & inspiration. Bye for now.

You are doing great. I have been using SparkPeople since right after Christmas and I log my food to make sure I keep my daily totals in check too - it keeps me honest and avoids surprises with the scale. I also log my exercise. I blog occasionally, mostly about my running program that I started. I also have been checking out the recipes. I am not really the cook in the family and I work from home so I tried out a few slow cooker recipes this winter. They were really good. Keep checking in and I wish you much success and that you are around many years to enjoy your kids, grandkids and great grandkids. emoticon

I located your blog after finding your comment on the Motivation message board site. I agree, Sparkpeople helps me stay on track. Daily efforts are supported through this site, so I don't feel as if i am struggling along all by myself. Keep up the good work!

I find I learn something every day on Spark. So far, just about every recipe I try is good and I save it for another go later.
Sounds like you are doing well. Good luck!
