coffee eclair

Monday, January 28, 2013

A third of my calories today was given over to a coffee eclair at morning tea.

My partner went out for an early morning ride, and brought home 'a treat' to have with our morning coffee. emoticon

I was not able to say no, as the words that accompanied the eclair were as sweet.

emoticon Doing some quick mental arithmetic, I figured lunch and dinner were light meals and that I would go without my snacks for the day - which I did. But it was not until I came to put this surprise morsel into the nutrition tracker, just how much I was giving up - a third of my calories for the day!

I was hungry before dinner, but kept drinking water while preparing the meal. Now sitting at my computer, and putting my bag together for work tomorrow, I am continuing to drink water. But now I'm worrying whether I am going to be up and down out of bed during the night to go to the toilet. emoticon

emoticon Oh well, another learning experience, albeit a tasty one.

Yeah, my DH brings me treats, often too many treats. We've kind of reached a compromise, and sometimes I'll split the treat with him. Other days, I adjust the rest of my meals so I can enjoy the treat, or increase my exercise for the day.

Because life is too short to not enjoy the treat - or to not appreciate the loving gesture.

WOW, what an awesome day for you!! Even if that eclair had taken half your cals and you had to go over, you would have done WELL, but here you go, using your too ls, and staying within the range - YOU REALLY ARE MAKING PROGRESS - Eclairs are a great OCCASIONAL indulgence but ONLY if you ENJOY every bite and make the adjustments you need to fit it into your plan.

You keep making this kind of progress and you are likely to be at your goals sooner rather than later.
