Many times I have tried to lose weight. I've joined the well known weight loss programs. Spent way to much money on prepared food that wound up making my cholesterol go up. On Dr.'s orders I had to leave the program. I even bought an ellipitcal/bike in home unit only to use it to hang my other weight loss things. Yes I've done it all - again and again.
What makes this time different? I don't know if it is but it feels different. I decided to just watch what I eat, get at least 10 min in a day to start and minimize my snacking after dinner. Before I knew it, we had started a lunch time workout group at work. 1/2 hr twice a week of crunches and weights and the dreaded planks. And then I hooked up my Wii and started using the Wii fit. I found an app on my phone that others at work were using and starting to use it too. We can view each other's progress. SImilar to Spark People but these are people I see everyday and are accountable to.
How is it working? I'm down 5 lbs this year. I also realize that just as fast as it comes off, it can come back on. So- I think before I reach for a snack, and I 've eaten more fruit than ever. Can I do it this time? Yes, I think I can.
