Missing in Action

Saturday, February 02, 2013

I am so sorry for having been "missing in action" for so long! Here is the latest:

December 21st, I finally got the cast off of my arm. I didn't seem to bounce back as well with this surgery as with the one on the right arm. I know, "as we get older", lol. However, I am slowly getting my strength back and am able to type quickly again.

After being in the office where my job is located for over 22 years, my boss has decided to relocate to another building that he owns entirely. Instead of it being just our "office", there will be 21 (and counting) other tenants in the building, also for which I will be receptionist/switchboard operator/greeter/mail person/girl friday as well as continuing to be the legal secretary that I am and do all of my normal typing, dictation, copying, indexing of files, appointment setter and the list goes on. In other words, I will be on the phone and computer ALL day, EVERY day even more than I am now. Thus, by the time I get home, the last thing that I want to do is be online or on the phone. Yes, I am sorry to say, this means being on "sparks" as well.

I normally come home, eat dinner and hit the bed sometimes by 6:30 pm. And for those of you who work you will understand how that leaves the weekend for chores and errands. I'm not as young as I used to be and working 40 plus hours a week plus driving 45 minutes each way sure does take a lot out of a person!!

Meanwhile, everything else is doing well. I am still enjoying my job tremendously and all of the daily challenges it presents. Right now, the biggest challenge is being in charge of overseeing the relocation of the entire office including the movers, packing and all that it entails.

Plus, due to not needing to be living alone because of age and health issues, Marvin (my dear friend and ex husband) is moving in with Bob and I so, we are having renovations done to accomodate him where he can have his "own space" yet be here with us. This also entails the packing, moving and selling of his current home.

Well, seeing that it is in the wee hours of the morning, I am going back to bed for some much needed rest. It seems that the dog doesn't understand that now that I am working, I don't like to play at 2 am....lol

Hugs to all and thank you for all of your comments, good wishes and the "spark goodies"!

I'll try and keep you updated as much as I can.
Love, Me
