Looking For a Rainbow

In my last blog, I said "when it rains, it pours". Well boy does it ever. For the past few weeks my boyfriend hasn't been feeling well. A week ago his heart was beating very fast. He was concerned so he went to the emergency room. The medical staff couldn't find anything wrong with him so they sent him home. The next day, I could see my boyfriend's chest and stomach moving rapidly to the beat of his heart. I told him I couldn't imagine why the doctor would release him when clearly there is something wrong. That night my boyfriend went back to the emergency room and stayed over night. More tests were done.
My boyfriend was unofficially told he has Graves Disease which means he has hyperthyroid. He has an appointment with an endocrinologist soon. They'll give him an official diagnosis. We already know it is Graves because during all this, my boyfriend found out his two aunts and two cousins have Graves. Also, not only was my boyfriend having thyroid problems, he was also in the middle of passing a kidney stone. He passed it so thank goodness that is over and done with until his next one.
At the time of the emergency room visits, my boyfriend was waiting on approval for health insurance he had applied for just two weeks ago. He was approved the day after he got out of the hospital so we have to cover the costs of the emergency room visits and tests ourselves. We're also having car trouble again. We just can't seem to catch a break.
On a positive note, I applied for health insurance because of all this. Soon I'll be able to get some of my medical and dental needs taken care of.
I know things will get better. We have to go through the bad to appreciate the good. I'm very thankful it isn't worse. He's alive and will be fine once his thyroid is under control. We're two very lucky people because we have each other.
