Day 459: The Morning Quickie
Friday, February 15, 2013
Much to do today, as I function through the cold - makes everything take three times longer. At least, it feels like three times longer. Maybe it's just because I walk around with kleenex stuffed up my nose.
Himself did fine with the groceries yesterday, and as LIBBYL1 pointed out, as a way of saying "I care" it was better'n chocolate.
He did bring me a present of sorts. He found some superb oranges, "navelinas," and they may be the best oranges I've ever had. Not the most green shopping, in all honesty, as these are from Egypt. But if it weren't for imports we certainly wouldn't have oranges here. Don't be fooled by the phrase "Tea will be served in the orangerie." Yes, England has the occasional orangerie. No, England is not known for its orange crop. I don't do "cold medicine," per se, because I've yet to find one that actually helps and doesn't cause more problems than it solves. But vitamin C? Yah, I'll go for that, especially if it comes wrapped in something as delicious as an Egyptian orange.
I'm glad it's the weekend. Two days with no errands, no appointments, no schedules. Time to put my feet up and coddle the cold.
Have a good'un, Sparklers - carpe diem!
