Stability (for Steph)
Friday, February 22, 2013
OK - after pondering since yesterday, I think I'm ready to write this! First, let me say that I've read Steph's, Mary's and Vicki's blogs on this subject and each and every one of them speaks to me on one level or another.
For me, I think the word stability brings family to mind - first and foremost. Waking up each morning with my DH here. Knowing nearly every day I will hear from one, if not both, of my daughters. Touching base with most of my GC on Facebook (LOVE modern technology). Getting on my Spark teams and talking with my dear, dear friends. That is ALL stability in my life. From that base I move on to the stability of healthy eating, exercise, routine, etc. etc. That has become habit that doesn't really require too much thought and for that I'm grateful.
Yes, God is at the center of ALL my stability, family, health, economy, etc.
Yes, financial stability is important and I've been blessed with "just enough." Most months I have a few dollars left after bills - some better than others. The unexpected can rock that balance sometimes. But fortunately, that isn't too often.
Then on the more humorous side, one of the first things I think of when someone says "stability" is my experience on exercising with a stability ball. Thought I really had a handle on that till I rolled off it trying one exercise and smashed into my computer station. OUCH!
So, indeed, it's really interesting how one word can make you think so many different things, isn't it??? Thanks for that thought provoking challenge Steph!
