Homemade Thin Mints Recipe

Friday, March 01, 2013

How many of you saw the DailySpark.com article about making homemade Girl Scout cookies? It made my mouth water for just any of those cookies, but especially for the Thin Mints.

I clicked on the link to find the homemade Thin Mint recipe, and I was somewhat surprised (and bothered) to see the negative comment about supporting the Girl Scout cookies sales. Wasn't really surprised about the hydrogenated oils in them, though.

I don't know that I'll ever get around to making any of these cookies, but I did bookmark the recipe onto my Favorites list. I've got about eight more of the Thin Mints stashed away, and I think I hear one of them calling me right now.

Just one. I promise.

I agree with you, FFK! -- a health site like SP promoting non-healthy foods?!

I saw it and did not go to it because really...a health site like SP promoting non-healthy foods? The recipes aren't even the Chef Meg lightens a recipe type of recipe. I find too many of the Daily Blogs are nothing more than disguised ad pitches any more.

I'm not offended by the article & I fully agree moderation & self-control are to be promoted and some occasional indulgences are perfectly OK (and believe me I have occasional indulgences!) but I don't think Coach Stephanie thought this one all the way through. I'm sure many people on SP will have a hard time with the blog triggering food cravings & addictions that they might not yet be in a place where they can keep them under control.
