What's on my mind?

I'm in maintenance mode, and have been since October. It is a real challenge. I have to work just as hard as I did when I lost the 50 lbs. over a year's time.

Finding the "sweet spot" on the calorie range is a work in progress. I've had to learn to adjust and modify as needed (just like when I was losing). I've also had to learn that maintenance is a range for me. As I get stronger and build muscles my range has been sticking to a few pounds higher than before.

Being part of the BLC, there is not as much info on maintaining as there is info on losing. I've started looking into it some websites on maintaining to do some research.

On website http://www.active.com/nutritio
tain-Your-Weight-Loss, says you need to find your new normal. That is what I've been working to find. Most of the other tips, I follow regularly (before I read the article).

One of the last tips is to remind yourself WHY you need to stay vigilant. It reminds you to think about the fat cells and the before, so you don't go back.

I don't want to go back, I want to keep going forward.

Maintenance really is NO JOKE. I agree with you 100%.

And I also agree that part of what makes it hard is that it's a moving target, depending on lots of factors including exercise, illness, injury, hormones, etc. All of these can affect the rate at which we burn calories.

Congrats on holding out since October, for sure! If you'd like to celebrate your anniversary with the At Goal & Maintaining + Transition to Maintenance team, we'd love to have you over there!

Congrats on maintaining since October. I hope to join you and Dar sometime this year. It would be nice if SparkCoach would have a program for maintenance. I need to suggest that.

    Keep it up. emoticon

Maintenance is finally having that "cheat" meal without doing any damage. Way to many times once someone reaches their goal they let their guard down and it turns into a viscous circle again. You will always have to be aware of what you're eating and stick to portion control, there is no way around it.

Never give up the ST, you will be thanking your younger self later in life.

I don't think there is ever a point where it becomes easy at least it hasn't for me and I've been maintaing for 5 years. If I let my guard down I can quickly put on a few unwanted pounds.

    emoticon we can maintain together.
