Am I Healthier

Today on Spark Coach Spark Guy, Chris Downey talked about noticing other ways, besides the movement of the scale, that let me know that I am getting healthier. A spring in my step, shiny hair and nice skin, more energy in the morning, clothes fitting better. I have to say honestly that I've not noticed any of these things yet. In fact, today, I could barely crawl out of my bedroom to the kitchen. When a person has an autoimmune disease topped off by a major mental illness where exhaustion is a major symptom of both and also a side effect of the medicines I takem it makes it exceptionally hard to make these changes.

Now three years ago, when I was gung ho into Spark People, I did notice all of these benefits. Maybe it's just too soon for me to see these things. Maybe I haven't been consistent enough with following my food plan and exercising regularly for me to see these benefits. I desperately want to feel good like this Today I feel so lousy. I'm exhausted. Unmotivated.

Maybe today I will go outside and walk....just for fifteen minutes. I surely can do that, can't I ? Maybe the fresh air will chase the cobwebs out of my head. I really look forward to noticing that I'm doing well, that I'm feeling stronger and healthier.
Going to go outside now for a walk. Going to eat an apple and peanut butter first. I need to do this Because I'm not feeling good, strong or energized. Time to take control with a positive change.

    Yes I know how you feel . There are many times I feel like crawling back to bed and forgetting the world is out there.
    But I am needed and have to,push myself to look after my Colin .
    He has been so ill and is so very weak.
    We are trying to build him up to have another op xx
    So up I get. Have brekky then out for a walk with my walker and my dog Bobby .
    By the time I get back I am ok for the day .
    Hope you too can find the inspiration also to get moving xxx

    Fatigue is really hard to beat down. I have been such a bad insomniac for so long I quite frankly could not tell if I was tired from lack of sleep or fatigue from my RA. So it is a double whammy to be sure. I pretty much have to psych myself up and get excited about my workout to get out of bed instead of rolling back over and pulling the covers over my head. If you have great weather outside and no ice and snow to contend with, some fresh air may be just the thing you need to perk up. Or some activity in your house, a project needing doing that involves some kind of movement, but is not strenuous. Get some positive self talk going that you are just going to do it!

    I know what you mean. I feel tired all the time to cause of my RA. We just need to try to push through it. I set a time everyday for 30 minutes to do my exercise and I stop what I'm doing and get it done. It is very hard some days. You will definately see healthy changes soon. I think you are doing a fantastic job! emoticon emoticon
