Lawn and Gossip

That's right... I mowed the lawn! I had decided yesterday that the lawn needed to be given a haircut when I saw a bird drop down into the shamrocks... and disappear! and the shamrocks aren't the only thing that had gotten tall in the last couple of weeks. So the lawn definitly needed a trimming. I got a very brief workout using a bicycle tire pump to fill up the riding mowers wheels. They always go flat inbetween mowings. Always! Ah, well, at least they stay pumped for the duration of the ride!
I got a look at the two families that came to view the house next door (it's up for sale) and I still haven't a clue who the realtor is. I think that since the bank now owns the house they might be contracting through several realtors or agencies, I'm not sure. Both families had several young children. The house is big; several bedrooms, plus a full basement. But it needs a LOT of work. The bank has had a couple of contractors out working on a few things, but it needs quite a bit more work. We had a hailstorm a couple of years ago, after which almost everyone in the neighborhood had their roof redone. Next door did not. And it should have been done. The back deck is attached to the second story... and it's stairs and decking need to be replaced(I wouldn't let a kid go out on it). And the last owners kept their dogs inside... which wouln't neccessarily be a big deal, but shall we say these dogs were not disciplined often...
The mother that lived there was a teacher that chose to resign and move away when all of the cheating scandals broke out about the Atlanta Public School System. She decided to move her kids down to FL with her boyfriend. Which left the house (which was in the grandmother's name) sitting empty for at least a year.
So the house has sitting there... and eventually the family (the grandmother) couldn't keep up with the payments, so the bank claimed it.
And now at least one closing has fallen through and it's back being shown to potential families. Since I'm nosy, I always wave and say hi to the families... which usually leads to them asking questions... I have to say I don't think the realtors like my answers about the house. Oh, well, that's the price of honest, right!
My intentions for today were to mow the lawn and to reorganize my desk. One is done... the other, not so much. But I did go for a walk! 3 miles. And I'm one glass away from my water intake goal.
