Making progress

Back pain is improving slowly through exercise of all things. Some of the knitters challenge exercises have been good, the ones suggested by Christine aka Doveseyes have been excellent, and I have been walking more starting out slow. I've also been praying about my sons marriage and helping my daughter in law. I'm leaving the door open for my son to reconnect with me but I know I can't change him. The only thing I can change is myself and the way I react to my stressors. I'm enjoying exercising outside again in the glorious Spring weather! Last night I finished a pink throw or blanket that I've been working on forever and now I can start my stashbuster project for my knitting team. I feel like my change in attitude is giving me new energy to tackle my problems instead of using them as a excuse to binge! emoticon

    I am so happy to read this! You are brave and stronger than you think. I am really glad the exercising is helping. Please put pictures of your knitting when you have a moment, it sounds lovely!

    One day at a time dear friend, sometimes it one minute at a time ... but you can go forward. You may not be able to change a situation but you can 'grow' in it.

    Great that you have got back into your knitting too. It's finally autumn here though the temps are still 34 deg C. Hot. But I'm eyeing my knitting bag with expectation. I'm working on a Town Cryer from Jean Greenhowe's collection he can be made to celebrate an event and as Bec only has 8 month left till she's a doctor, it will be the perfect collectible. He has a scroll that you can write on in his hands, a three corner hat and a ruffle neck tie and a bell to go 'oyez!!!oyez' it looks hard which I like. So far I've made his head which was really intricate as he is a hedghog.

    That is exciting news, Karen. So praising God that He is helping your moods and tudes so you can better cope. Back exercises are a must for me. I am glad you are seeing benefit from it. If you pain is low back, the one that helps me most is a stretch using an exercise band. Put the band around the sole of your foot and lay down with that leg straight, and the other bent. Pulling on the band, raise the foot to the ceiling for a count of 30 and lower back down. You should feel it up the back of the leg and buttocks, relaxing the low back. Repeat 5 times, then switch to the other side. Glad you are feeling better. HUGSs.
