End of Week Summary

Sunday, April 28, 2013

Today marks my second week following the EAt to Live program. At the end of last week, I'd inexplicably gained three pounds....So counting relosing that I've lost 5 pounds this week. Net: 2 pounds. I'm still eating at night but eating healthier things like oranges. Last night I had some whole wheat crackers which tasted like straw but I ate them anyway. Now there are no more of those in the house, and I will not buy any more. Slowly the junk is leaving the house. I cleaned out the cupboards and removed all of the packaged and canned food that is not on this eating plan. I'm taking a big bag of it to my church today to donate to the food pantry.

I can't really see any difference yet in my appearance, although my husband says my face is thinner. I know some pants are loose in the waist.
I haven't had any reduction in pain yet. My neck is excruciating and my feet and hands also ache. I guess it takes some weeks or even months before chronic diseases can be reversed I am hopeful but am reserving my judgment until I see some solid results. I just pray it takes care of my husband's heart disease. The only problem with him is that he is doing the diet, one foot in and one foot out. Straddling the fence. And supposedly that is not adequate to reverse disease. But I can't really chide him for how he's eating. He won't like hearing that.

l know that I am not eating ENOUGH food to get the blast of nutrition necessary to really enjoy optimal health. I guess I will have to gradually eat more as I discover how to cook like this. It can be a little expensive also to eat these mass quantities of produce. So far it costs me about $120 a week and my husband does a small shopping in the middle of the week to supplement.

I love the fact that both of you are trying the same thing out. And guys always do the half-hiney bit. My father is diabetic and eats ice cream every night. Sometimes we just have to let them come to it naturally (like that darn cat did to my father! Ugh! Now we have to keep it!)

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I am very proud of you getting it out there and getting it done. As the weeks go by you will be seeing changes. Just don't get discouraged and remember that you are eating to LIVE, not die or starve.

Love and hugs to you and best wishes with continued success!
