The Daily News

Today's news? My kitty is not diabetic. We were worried that she may be and the vet took a test last Friday to determine whether or not she is. We just got the results and the result is that she is NOT diabetic. The reason she was eating so much and constantly begging for food is that she is now on a prescription food (for her bladder) and the "dosage" for this food is higher than her old food was. We simply were not giving her enough food for her weight. Thank goodness that's all it was.

The other news is that my husband is sick. We shall see if I can manage to stay well with a sick person in my household. With the ETL diet I'm on, sickness is supposed to be rare and recovery is quick if you do get anything. We shall see.

This morning I woke at four with every square inch of my body screaming in pain. I readjusted my electric hospital bed and stayed in it til 9:00, half dozing but in agonizing pain. It was cold this morning. Last night there was a a frost.( I lost one plant.) And the cold bit me too. I think that's why I was in so much pain. In fact, I'm still cold and i'm still hurting....and I'm still in bed.

Tonight's dinner? Well, if the tofu thaws quickly enough, we will have beet and edamame stir fry. It is made with apricot preserves and vinegar so I think the effect will be like pickled beets. It sounds good. I'm looking forward to dinner. :)
Although I'm not looking forward to cooking it. I never do. I'm a good cook and can follow just about any recipe....but I still get nervous and anxious about cooking. I think this is because it's harder for me to be organized than it once was. I get my nerves in an uproar just because I have to cook a meal ...and because I pretty much cook a new recipe every day....I never ever feel "comfortable" or familiar with what I'm doing.

Oh well. I do what needs to be done and that's all that matters. For now, I just wish I could take a nap. Maybe I will read a book....then maybe I will fall asleep.
I hope you all have a great day. What's your news of the day?

Happy about your kitty!!! I also understand about being cold - I cannot tolerate cold - but then I also cannot tolerate extreme heat, so ... emoticon

That stir-fry dish sounds good, although I haven't tried tofu because I'm allergic to the way it LOOKS!! emoticon Anyway, Girlfriend, don't get nervous about the cooking - it just is what it is.

I really hope the hubby is going to get along ok. Is it flu? Virus or bacteria? I just pray he recovers quickly and you don't get it!

Cynthia, you do SO much and I just can't believe it - due to the pain you have all the time. Oh, I want you to be healed!!

    Take care!
    Blessings,
    Tiny

I have never cooked anything in my life that didn't come out of a package. I would probably be more awkward then you at it. I am hoping I don't really have to, that this blender will make a few things easy for me to tolerate doing, like pureed soups. I have GI troubles and am wondering if more of my raw veggies and fruits were pulverized down to the cellular level, it would be easier for me to digest and not bother my gut so much. Time will tell, I guess.
At work today, big game, but not too many calls, so quick Sparking in between. It was our spring luncheon and I limited myself to one dainty and an egg salad on brown with cauliflower and broccoli to munch on. Its our healthiest meal we have here, so was quite happy with it. Tonight is our dinner in my apartment building, lasagna, and the young chef makes it with spinach and cottage cheese as some ingredients, so looking forward to it, but will still be high calorie as the salad is Ceaser and garlic toast for a side, unknown dessert, but the last two times I ate there was ice cream.
Exhausted from 5 hrs hiking yesterday, so did not do as much exercise today.
Hope you feel better. Tthe warmth here (82 yesterday and today a little cooler) does me wonders.
