When Life Gets in the Way!!!

Monday, May 13, 2013

This seems to be the story of my life, and un-success lately! I work 40+ hours a week, tend to a house and 3 kids as well as try to fit in a healthy and active lifestyle, or lack thereof!!! I always feel like I am running in 10 different directions, yet like I never have any extra time left to fit in exercise and time to create a healthier me! I know this is a very normal lifestyle, but what's so different in my case, is the fact that I've been a stay-at-home mom for the last 6 years or so. I always had the extra time to fit in a workout whenever I could, and made sure everything including chores got done. Now I am struggling with my new "working mom" lifestyle and making the time to fit in my time to exercise. We go on our annual family vacation in August, and I desperately wanna get back in shape in time, so I need all the support I can get! What is it that all of you do when you have a busy lifestyle like mine?? How is it that you find the time to fit in exercise? What about those days where you just don't feel like doing it?

Thanks for reading, listening, and offering your support!!! emoticon

as a working mother, i started my children off early with their household chores, like doing their own laundry and dishes, and vacuuming the living rooms. no reason why i had to do it all. big calendar with the sign over it: if it isn't written down, it won't happen. it only takes one event missed for the child to remember to get it on the calendar. i didn't have a spouse, but if i had, he'd have been doing some of the running and cooking also. and i did not take up the slack. if they didn't do their laundry, they went out in dirty clothes.

Jen, I am in the same boat. All I can say is plan, plan, and plan. Schedule the exercise as any other appointment or kids' activity. If you can't schedule a period of time, look for other opportunities of short periods of activity; perhaps first thing in the morning, at lunch or break time, during evening when kids' events, etc. Even 10 minutes of exercise at a time is better than anything.

    You can do it!
