Puppies Are Giving Me A Workout!

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

I just plugged in my ActiveLink and was surprised! Yesterday I did some housework and played with the puppies. By played, I mean took them outside and chased them around. When I saw that I earned 3 activity points yesterday I realized that they are giving me a real workout! Today I road the recumbent cycle at the gym for 65 minutes - 11.3 miles. Combined with some shopping and playing with the puppies, I earned 7 activity points! Wow! It was fun and I really didn't notice the workout at all!

Good deal! Sometimes I hold in my tummy while I vacuum and scrub. Surely that counts for sit-ups? And speaking of sit-ups, have you ever tried those with your puppies? I have ... With my entire pack barking, licking me in the face ... It must be a good workout, since all that laughing I do makes me tighten my belly muscles.
Tomorrow when I clean, I believe I will take an aerobics-minded attitude.

What LJCannon said is very true. We could learn a lesson, in this case, from children. They put all they have into playing and are the healthier and happier for it. Too many people forget that they are still moving and burning callories when you do "just" activities, as opposed to formal exercise Keep up the Good work and I hope you have many such discoveries as you walk down the journey and actively work on yourself! emoticon

emoticon Children call it "Playing" and we Adults call it "Exercise". In this case, I think we should Learn a Lesson from the Kids.
