Keeping It Rolling

I did end up going for a walk the other evening. In fact, I wound up jogging, too! Woot! I felt accomplished! But I ended up not doing any squats the next day because my knee kept popping. And I could feel my body really dragging after 5 straight days of exercise after not having done a whole lot for a while. So I declared Thursday a rest day.

And today, Friday, I mowed the yard. I had to wait for the grass to dry out a bit, so once I started it was a bit warmer than I cared for. BUT I can tell I'm getting better/faster/stronger because it only took me 115 minutes to mow the whole yard instead of 140 or more. And thankfully the grass was still short enough that it didn't choke the engine even once! Bonus!

Tomorrow I will be getting up early and making sure I walk in the morning. I have an afternoon and evening out with friends planned. I will be doing my best to keep my eating in check, drink mostly water, and only one glass of wine. We are probably going to have Mexican food for a late lunch and then go see a Shakespeare play that my friend is in. It will be a fun day!
But I want to make sure that I keep my motivation and making forward progress, so I need to take that walk tomorrow morning.

    Nice going on the exercise. Always felt good to have a recovery day. Sometimes the body really needs it, and this is better than breaking yourself (like I do).
