Today is the day!

Thursday, August 08, 2013

I am starting today anew! I have a lot on my mind. I had a camp fire last night to release the last of my bad feelings about myself and I'm starting today right. We all beat ourselves up even though we don't always mean to. Plus, I've been dying for a smoke. I don't care who you are, 2nd week is WAY harder than 1st.

Good luck in your quest to eat better and stop smoking. I quit smoking years ago and am way past the point of missing it.

I like what Woubbie said... about each day being a new day. I often say this myself. Set small goals, so that you can congratulate yourself.

You CAN do this! The smoking and the eating... no, it won't be easy. But you are young, strong and beautiful, and you can definitely do this!

We are all (virtually) here for you!

I love this comment from an interview with rapper Macklemore (Thrift Shop). He's a recovering alcoholic, and all addictions have a lot in common, including food addictions:

"I ask how he's coping, and he thinks for a long time before answering. "I've. . .walked the line," he says slowly. "Drugs and alcohol will always be an issue for me. That's never going to change." He stares at the sky, choosing his words.

"I can say that right now, I'm sober," he says after a while. "I plan on remaining sober for the rest of the day. And starting over again tomorrow."

I PLAN on remaining sober,,,, No guarantee, but an awareness that you have to plan and think about compliance EVERY day.

    YOU CAN DO IT!

You are quitting smoking and changing eating at the same time? Gurl, that's gonna be tough!

I quit smoking 11 1/2 years ago. It is hard but it can be done.
