When I first joined a gym they assigned a trainer to me. I told her what my capabilities were to start with. She put me on a treadmill. Help!! Don't leave me!! She really didn't even tell me how to slow it down or how to be sure it didn't go too fast. I then told her that water aerobics would be a better fit for me. She showed me some moves and that was fine. But she was so 'stick thin', almost anorexic, that it made me feel like there was no way I could ever look like that. Or if I even wanted to.
That was just a temporary trainer. So then I started the aerobics class. Now that I enjoyed, was able to keep up and found the group encouraging. The only draw back was how cold it was to get out of the pool. Brrr. I am just such a wimp!!
