So, this morning I signed up to do my towns first turkey trot. I went back and forth on if I would just walk or if I would start C25K week 2, since I wrapped up week 1 on Wed night.
I arrived at the place of trotting this morning, pretty well bundled up since it was about 30 degrees outside. Everyone looked like runners.. all physically fit and such, and I began to wonder if this wasn't a run/walk but a run. YIKES. Long story short... I decided to wog... not doing C25K, because that would only last about 20 min. So, I started off jogging and DID see people walking (good to know!)
Now, my goal for this was to finish in 45 minutes. I honestly didn't know if I could do it. So this morning I can't say I wogged half of the 5K, but it had to have been pretty close. And when I came into the finish, I was SUPER pleased to have a time of 43:02!!! Two minutes shorter than my goal! WooHoo! I'm very excited now, and feel much more confident about moving on to week 2 of C25K. And I'm VERY excited about the 5K in Windcrest in two weeks. If any of you are local, I encourage you to sign up! Windcrest is known for their Christmas lights, and this run will take place in the evening through the lights! VERY exciting! I posted more info on this run on our San Antonio team page!
